Solid Rock Health Educators offers a 4-hour CMT renewal class for students who are seeking to continue practicing as a medication technician. Students will review topics related to the scope and responsibilities of a CMT, from safe medication administration techniques to proper medication storage, and more.
According to Maryland.gov, a medication technician:
- Must renew their certificate every 2 years following the date of their first renewal.
- Must successfully accomplish a board-approved clinical update specific to their practice setting within 90 days before their CMT certificate expires.
- Effective October 1, 2007, CMTs must complete 100 hours of practice in the 2 years immediately preceding the CMT renewal.
- There is a 30-day grace period beyond the CMT certificate’s expiration to renew.
